THE YOUNG royals have a Potter fun during a wizard studio visit today.
Princes Harry, William and the Duchess Of Cambridge were given a crash course in wand combat as they explored the set where the hugely successful franchise was filmed.Earlier in the visit William had got to grips with Batman’s motorbike before going on to claim he’d like to replace Christian Bale on the big screen.
The heir to the throne hopped on the Batpod during a visit to film-maker Warner Bros studios in Watford.
With pregnant wife Kate watching on, he joked: “Christian Bales’ getting old and tired I will stand in if I have to.”
He added: “Where’s the start button? It’s awesome, absolutely incredible.”
Later in a speech to formally open the £100million complex Wills spoke of how excited he was about the visit.
He said: “All three of us have been looking forward to being here with you all today, and so far it’s lived up to our expectations.
“To be honest, I’m over the moon just to have seen the real Batmobile and Batpod - you don’t do baby seats for those cars, do you, by any chance?
“On the other hand Harry’s just excited to see a real life talking owl in the Harry Potter studios. I haven’t told him yet that Harry Potter is fictional, so please keep the secret for a little longer.”
Kate, who is around six months pregnant opted for a £38 polka dot dress from Topshop that showed off her growing baby bump.
It was a considerably cheaper alternative to the £1,000 dress she wore during a visit to Manchester earlier this week.
The large sprawling site close to Watford is home to the popular Making Of Harry Potter tour that has proved a huge attraction for fans of the teenage wizard.
Props, costumes and models from the movies that chronicle his adventures were on display for the royal guests.
Also invited for the visit were 500 children, and their parents, associated with charities that have one of the royals as their patron.
Futuristic vehicles from the Dark Knight Batman trilogy, made by Warner Bros and starring Christian Bale in the lead role, were the first items on display including the Tumbler — the caped crusaders’ Batmobile.
